Trump has trampled established norms of Presidential behavior. He’s bullied our allies, sucked up to our adversaries and embarrassed our country around the world. He’s also a racist, misogynist and just plain repulsive to millions of Americans.
But those things aren’t illegal. However, it IS illegal to defy the Constitution and ignore the law, which this President is doing almost daily. In the process, he’s pursuing an agenda that could severely damage or even end our democracy, specifically:*
- Using threats and intimidation against Congress
- Using the Justice Dept. for personal retribution
- Illegally firing federal employees
- Illegally cutting funding for programs that Congress established
- Effectively shuttering USAID and similar programs
- Capturing / deporting immigrants without due process
- Extorting universities and law firms
- Imposing tariffs based on a false emergency
- Committing unprecedented graft and corruption
- Curbing Constitutional guardrails to Executive power
- Promoting election interference
- Captured the president of a sovereign nation
- Attacking foreign vessels and killing civilians
- Killing of innocent US-citizen civilians by ICE and DHS agents in MN
